I have never worked on an easel. The mediums I generally work in don’t require such an instrument. Recently I went with a friend to a Sip and Paint night and used an easel for the first time. Sip and Paint is just a fun night where you paint for fun. The facilitator/instructor is providing some key guidance on the painting you are working on. But to be totally honest it doesn’t provide much if any instruction. Using acrylic paint, you paint a painting from beginning to end in a couple of hours. The whole time you are chatting with your friends and have a little bit of wine along the way. It is a social night. It is a moment you let your inhibitions go and paint.
